On our way back east from our time in Oregon we picked up a Harvest Host membership to branch out a bit from just staying at RV parks. We found what seemed like it would be quite a unique stay, in a little bit of land off the highway in Wilson Kansas... an abandoned atlas missile silo!

The owner of the site, Matt and his two silo dogs, Buddy and Bing were very welcoming and Matt will even take you on a guided tour of his silo! We learned a lot about the history of why this was even there in the first place, how things might have looked back when it was an active military installation and some of the many inspirations and goals Matt has for the future of the site!
